Two prelim brackets of ten. Teams finish either in the top five or bottom five of their prelim bracket. In the playoffs, they then play the corresponding half of the other prelim bracket. Finals as needed.
How will packets work with no byes?
There are byes for the prelims. The prelims will be played over 10 rounds. In odd-numbered rounds of the prelims, a packet from Bracket A will be read, and two teams from Bracket A will have a bye. In even-numbered rounds of the prelims, a packet from Bracket B will be played, and two teams from Bracket B will have a bye.

Of the remaining submitted packets that we edited, half of them will be played by the top playoff bracket and the other half of them will be played by the bottom playoff bracket. There are no byes in the playoffs.

Each team therefore plays a guaranteed 14 packets over 15 rounds over the course of the whole tournament, plus the possibility of finals.

I think I'm just not understanding . . . doesn't that leave five teams' packets from each bracket unread? What's to keep more than five of the unread teams from A or B from making the top bracket?

That is, if (what turns out to be) A1 through A5 and B1 through B5 all have their packets read in the prelims, what does the bottom bracket use for the playoffs?

Some packets were combined, and we will also be using some editors' packets for the playoffs.

Thank you to all the staff for making this tournament happen.

Combined stats are here but the scoresheet for the round 15 game between "Just what is it" and "Golgari Glenn Ross" is missing. Did anyone pick it up, or keep their own score during that game?

Congrats to "Make America Jolly Good Again" for achieving a quizbowl milestone by being the first team ever to score 149 points in a match!

Looking at individual details, it looks like all my prelim stats have been awarded to Charles. I went something like 1-13-4 in the prelims.

Looks like removing Dan from the SQBS file bumped all your stats down one row, Chinmay. I'll fix that. Anyone else with stats corrections can post here or email me.

The Individuals page for the combined stats file is for some reason only displaying the values for the prelims.

Yes, I heard. I'll fix that once I get home tonight.

EDIT: Found internet, should be fixed now.

Once the remaining packets have been read in the IRC or elsewhere.

Now the "individual detail" page has the same problem.

There will be an IRC reading of the three remaining editors' packets for CO 2016 tomorrow night starting at 8 PM EST, in channel #COFinals (on slashNET as usual). After that, other people are invited to read cut submissions or highlights of their packets or whatever.

The "team detail" page also only shows the preliminaries.
