Pre-Nats Poll
Pre-Nats Poll
With ICT and Nats on the horizon, it's time for a pre-nationals poll.
Please do not post ballots in the thread, but feel free to ask questions about player eligibility, team formation, etc.
Do not vote for high school teams. You can vote for B teams. Ballots must contain 25 teams. E-mail them to me at chey0004 AT umn DOT edu by April 4 (WrestleMania Sunday).
Remember you are voting based on how the best possible (but still realistic) team would do at a hypothetical nationals-like tournament.
When last we checked, the top 25 were:
#1 Michigan (Big Ten)
#2 TIE Chicago A (UAA) and Stanford A (Pac-12)
#4 Maryland (Big Ten)
#5 Penn (Ivy)
#6 Yale (Ivy)
#7 Columbia (Ivy)
#8 Minnesota (Big Ten)
#9 MIT A (NEWMAC)
#10 WUSTL (UAA)
#11 Berkeley (Pac-12)
#12 Stanford B (Pac-12)
#13 Harvard A (Ivy)
#14 Georgia Tech (ACC)
#15 Illinois (Big Ten)
#16 Oxford (Cuppers!!!!)
#17 Northwestern (Big Ten)
#18 Brown (Ivy)
#19 Louisville (ACC)
#20 Virginia (ACC)
#21 North Carolina (ACC)
#22 Dartmouth (Ivy)
#23 Chicago B (UAA)
#24 Oklahoma (Big 12)

Re: Pre-Nats Poll
For what it's worth, here are the finalized Stanford rosters. We might be the only school with substantive A and B team differences between the national tournaments, so I'm not sure whether this will be useful in creating a single ranking for each team or just make it more difficult.

Re: Pre-Nats Poll
I doubt we'll get ranked very highly, but I'm playing ACF Nationals with my friend Charles Jang (just the two of us). For what it's worth, Dartmouth put up its highest PPB of the year when we played as a two-man team at Penn Bowl in October, which is quite a while ago at this point.

Re: Pre-Nats Poll
North Carolina's roster for ICT will be Natan Holtzman, Zihan Zheng, Derrick Flakoll, and myself, so we'll be UG-eligible, unlike at SCT.

Re: Pre-Nats Poll
Laurence Li is playing ICT with us instead of Grace (who can't make it); Grace will be back for Nationals. We will all also not be on BHSAT (0) hours of sleep like at SCT...

Re: Pre-Nats Poll
Northwestern will have Dylan, myself, and Max Rong for both nationals; Mike McCauley, who played SCT with Dylan and will likely score/contribute at about the same rate as Max, is probable for ICT and possible for Nats.
