Postseason Roundtable?

Post by naan/steak-holding toll »

I've got some free time this weekend and some people had expressed interest in having a quizbowl roundtable of sorts. Are people still interested in doing something like this, and if so, is Sunday a good time? I think the various mirrors of MUT/MYSTERIUM should be wrapped up by then, so we'll have all the relevant "data" available.

I'm postponing this until 8:30, but I'm still planning on running this for those interested.

For those of us that missed it, does anyone have a transcript of this they can post?

Yes.

At some point it was determined by someone that Eric Mukherjee is the sixth-best active player.

Unsurprisingly, Chicago and Michigan both believe they are the best team in the country. Their arguments were entertaining and somewhat compelling, however nothing was decided either way.

We got through a list of the top ten players without mentioning Kurtis one time, even though he finished first and second in scoring at the national competitions. It was later agreed upon that Kurtis belongs in the top 10.

It was noted that Itamar cannot possibly know about his own game better than I do because he has not read my science fiction novel.

After we got through about 25 people who deserved to be in the top 25, people randomly left or something.

Was this roundtable productive? I mean I don't know. We chatted. We should commend Will Alston on his editing work, so yeah be sure to do that. All in all the chat was okay.

It was also determined that Jordan Brownstein is good at some point. Maybe even better than Rafael.
