(Note: On January 1, 2008, the University of Missouri - Rolla is changing its name to Missouri University of Science and Technology, or Missouri S&T.)
The UMR/MST Academic Competition Organization is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a mirror of Maryland's Terrapin Invitational Tournament on January 19, 2008. This is a packet-submission modified-ACF tournament, with question difficulty slightly above ACF Fall level. Packet submission details can be found at http://www.hsquizbowl.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4608 though since we are late getting this announcement out the submission deadlines have been altered.
The updated pricing structure is as follows:
+$100 - Base Fee
-$50 - Packet submitted by Saturday, December 8th.
-$25 - Packet submitted by Saturday, December 15th.
+$0 - Packet submitted by Saturday, December 22nd.
+$25 - Packet submitted by Saturday, December 29th.
+$50 - No packet submitted.
-$5 - Buzzer discount per school.
-$10 - Competent moderator discount per school
-$20 - Travel discount per team for coming more than 200 miles one way as judged by Google Maps.
+$10 - Formatting penalty for formatting your questions incorrectly
-$20 - Prize for the best unedited packet received in general, and by the best Division II (first two years play quizbowl) only team.
Minimum fee: $40.
To register for the tournament, email me, Matt Chadbourne, at mwcbp3 at mst dot edu. Please include the number of teams, buzzers, and staff you intend to bring.
We hope to see many of you here in January.
Thanks,
Matt Chadbourne

Congratulations to Truman State A, winners of the Terrapin Invitational Tournament mirror at Missouri S&T.
Five teams competed, and after a double round-robin Truman A and Harding stood at 7-1, their only losses coming to each other. Truman won the final 185-65 to claim the championship.
Full results will be available soon. Thanks to everyone for coming and to Maryland for allowing us to use their excellent question set.
