Will this event be just the main Minnesota Open Tournament or will the side events be involved as well? I know there was some interest in having an east coast mirror of JECHT -- and well, this would be the most logical place to have it.

If you'll let us run JECHT, we'd be happy to. We'd also be open to (and have permission for) running Andrew Hart's Lit tournament (if there's enough interest).

I'd like to add that if any teams at this site (or any mirror sites) are looking to write a quality half-packet for Minnesota Open, we will give you a $15 discount out of the mirror fee, $30 for a whole packet. This would be due by our no penalty deadline, which is September 25.

We're going to be bringing at least one team. Do you need readers? We can bring at least one of those, too.

At this point, we need buzzers more than readers. When it gets closer to the tournament and I have a better idea of how many teams are coming, I'll let you know :)

I'll say that in the moderate-probability likelihood that I get up to Boston for this, I would be (primarily) interested in playing the lit. tournament.

In the interest of not making freshmen sad, there's a conservative field cap of 18 teams. However, if the need arises, I'll try and get more rooms.

Alright, I need someone to bring a staffer or two. Now you too can determine (to some degree) the quality of readers at this tournament! :D Staffers of the variety that can both read and score are preferred.

Hey - didn't notice this until tonight, but I can make the trip if a kindly team or tourney sponsor will offer me a place to roll out a sleeping bag. Let me know if I'm needed.

Brief results:

Brown A (Jerry, me) defeated Dartmouth (Dominic, AJ, Randall, Tiberiu) in the first game of an advantaged final. Top bracket consisted of Brown A, Brown B, Penn A, Dartmouth, Yale A, and Harvard A. Top scorers are currently unknown.

In all fairness, and not to denigrate anyone at this tournament, this was a pretty hard event that allowed both of us to rack up big numbers against weaker teams. I'm sure neither of us would have these numbers if we'd gone to the primary MO site.

I'd play the lit tournament.

Also, in light of the fact that I'm (for some malinformed reason) on a fantasy team, should I quibble about stats errors that change my ppg?

what about the possibility of postponing lit for the weekend of ACF Fall? I'd love to staff it/see it played live, but two weekends in a row in Boston is a bit much. If that only sounds like a good idea to me, though, I'll not mention it again.

Hey, if I am not mistaken, Andrew intends to put on another tournament with the remainder of the blind packets and writing some new packets, which (according to him) will be ready by IO at the earliest. He only mentioned it to me last night so I will let him talk about it here.

Maybe we should ask to postpone discussion of the set until ACF Fall. I agree with Katy's idea and would love to play this set; I personally have not heard any of the answers and I haven't seen them on this board, so I'd appreciate it if we could hold off on revealing them until others have had a chance to play.

Haha, that would make you two the third and fourth people to contact me about errors -.-||| If everyone could get their errors to me by Saturday, I can get them fixed all at once. After that, the stats will probably move to a more permanent place than my public directory, which makes it doubtful that we'll fix anything after that ;)
