From #msnct tweets...

Barrington Station A started 5-0, Station B was 3-0, and Station C was 1-2. A few other scattered results have been tweeted but no more than 2 scores for any other team.

The top four teams in each bracket advanced to the playoffs. I know that the three tiebreakers for playoffs were all 4-4 teams:

Westmont Hilltop A (advantage), St. Mary's Visitation, and Westminster B for one spot
Holy Family A (advantage), Wayzata Central, and Challenger Ardenwood for one spot
Nativity of Mary vs. Altoona for one spot

Lunchtime.

The six remaining teams are:

Barrington Station A
Kealing A
Kealing B
Longfellow A
Longfellow B
Westminster A

The first round after lunch will be the last with three active game rooms; once we reduce to two rooms I suspect we will have enough surplus staff to designate livebloggers.

What struck me at this tournament was how uniformly good the moderators were. Every single one we had was understandable and got through an acceptable number of questions per round. Difficulty seemed a little tougher than last year's MSNCT set but the players seemed to take it in stride.

Congratulations to Kealing, but also to Longfellow, Westminster, and Station for making it to the final six.

As a moderator, I agree on both points. I think a small proportion of questions were legitimately too hard for this level, but I think many of the questions which were harder than last year's set were converted well.

What Michael said. And stats bear that out. Just look at Kealing A's performance on A sets this year, vs. MSNCT. Also, look at Station A's bonus conversion on MS-02 (25.96), MS-03 (25.05), and then, at least for the prelims our conversion on MSNCT-12 (23.48). I'd say these stats show that MSNCT was a tad more difficult than the MS sets, but easier than the A sets. So, kudos to NAQT for hitting their target!
