AMSA Charter School is excited to announce that we're hosting our first Middle School Tournament. We'd love to see more MS Quiz Bowl in Massachusetts and we hope this will be a great opportunity for new teams to try out Quiz Bowl.

We'll be using NAQT's MS 25 set.

Teams can be from grades 6-8 and have up to 6 people on a team (4 of which can play at one time, with substitutions halfway through each round.)
Each team is guaranteed 8 rounds - possibly more depending on the field.

Costs:
$50 for first team from a school
$40 for any additional teams from a school
$5 discount for bringing a working buzzer system
If cost is an issue for your school, please let me know. We may be able to work with you.

Please register online at: https://www.naqt.com/registration/regis ... nt_id=9090

AMSA is conveniently located in Central Mass, right off 495, very close to 290 and Masspike. We have lots of free easy parking, even for busses.

Registration will be from 8:15 - 8:45 am. We hope to have a hour for lunch and then be done play by 4:00pm (though sometimes this is hard to predict.)

Lunch: there are several fast food type places within driving distance. We'll have a team pizza lunch deal available. You're also welcome to brown bag it of course!

Please let me know if you have any questions! We look forward to seeing you!

When do you estimate the tournament will end?

EDIT: Nevermind, I read the post more thoroughly

You can find stats for the morning and afternoon rounds here (this is a big technological victory for me!)

Congrats to Greens Farms!

Greens Farm heard 1008 bonuses? Man, how long did this tournament take??

OK, now that I took my opportunity to be funny, you have a formatting issue with your preliminary round stats, where you have the points totals instead of the number of powers & tens.

It's been a month. I'm wondering why the stats are still half-done. Where are the individual preliminary statistics/PPBs? I'm really hoping these will be posted soon, as I want to analyze some of my stats/my PPB.

I understand your frustration, but calm down, Karsten. I mean, you can still do analysis from the data they have. Just divide by 15, 10, or -5 respectively. For the first five games, that would mean you have a statline of 43/34/11 (186 ppg), with 25.32 ppb. That's a total of 193 ppg and 24.77 ppb for the tournament as a whole.

I think it's well understood that if you want to see the stats for this tourney, just go to the NAQT-linked stats.

Thank you Cerulean for the morning stats. I was just wondering where prelim stats were, so my apologies if this came off as angry. Anyway, this was otherwise a great tournament and thanks to Mrs. Bowen for making it happen.
