The US Academic Bee and Bowl is pleased to announce that the 2018 Tri-State Academic Bee and Bowl will be held on Sunday, May 6 at Ridgewood High School in Ridgewood, NJ. Please see the website for the tournament schedule.

This tournament features both team (i.e. Academic Bowl) and individual student (i.e. Academic Bee) competitions as well as the D Set version of the National Qualifying Exam for the US Geography Olympiad and International Geography Bee.

This tournament is open to students and teams from outside the Tri-State Area (NJ, NY, CT), and students and teams are welcome to participate in any events of the day they like. This tournament will have both a Middle School Division (8th grade and younger) and an Elementary Division (6th grade and younger) in both the Academic Bee and Bowl. 6th graders are welcome to play on Middle School Division teams if they wish.

Further details are as follows:

Cost:
Academic Bee student (2 rounds, 30 questions each) - $10

Academic Bowl team (5 preliminary rounds, at least 1 additional playoff or placement round for all teams) - $70
Buzzer discount - $5 off per system
Teams of 2 students - $60

Director and Coordinator – David Madden – email [email protected] for further questions

Registration: Online at http://www.usacademicbowl.com/regional-registration/

Deadline: Monday, April 30

Schools are required to bring 1 reader for every 2 teams, though if this presents an issue, email the director, and it’s possible this can be waived, as RHS Quiz Bowl / History Bowl students and other volunteers will be assisting with question reading as well. Please see www.usacademicbowl.com for further details on question format, including past questions from prior years. Thanks and we hope you can join us!
