Northern California Academic Bee & Bowl – May 5, Sunol Glen Elementary School in Sunol, CA

Post by Marble »

International Academic Competitions is delighted to announce that the 2019 Northern California Academic Bee and Bowl will be held at Sunol Glen Elementary School in Sunol, CA on Sunday, May 5. Like all of our full-day USABB competitions, this tournament is open to all students in 8th grade and younger who have not yet played at a full-day USABB tournament this academic year. This tournament features both individual (Bee) and team (Bowl) competitions. If you are playing in an Academic Bee held in conjunction with a National History Bee and National Science Bee regional tournament, you are still welcome to attend as this will run on a different question set.

No prior qualification is needed, and out of state students are welcome as well. To register, please visit: www.usacademicbowl.com/regional-registration/ and follow the instructions. Be sure to read the registration rules, including the requirement to bring 1 reader for every 2 teams (i.e. 1 reader for 1 or 2 teams, 2 readers if registering 3 or 4 teams, etc.) or otherwise they must email [email protected] in advance of the registration deadline and pay a $60 penalty per missing reader. The registration deadline is the evening of Sunday, April 28.

During the lunch break the D Set Version of the National Qualifying Exam for the US Geography Olympiad & International Geography Bee will be offered (one exam is used for both competitions). The cost is $10; students may sign up on the spot, though advance registration is recommended using the USABB tournament registration form.

Further details are available on the tournament website at:
