Awesome, thanks for making this!

It's prior to the beginning of the school year, but I imagine many local kids will still be around, so heads up that we'll be running a Boston Summer Open (Cambridge Open + side events) in early August. Many of the side events, and probably CamO itself, should be appropriate for high schoolers.

AMSA would like to tentatively claim Dec 15th for CMAT - Central Mass Academic Tournament. Snow day, Sunday, Dec. 16th. Almost certainly a NAQT set.

Also, we'll be hosting a middle school tournament on February 2 if any of you have affiliated middle schools or are looking to do some outreach/feeder program development.

Phillips Academy is tentatively claiming Dec. 8 for some sort of IS set under the name PAWT.
We're also even more tentatively claiming the weekend before HSNCT for 2019 state championships, which should also help for nationals prep to all the teams that are going.

Some of these are still somewhat tentative, but the main events of the Vermont schedule for 2018-19 will likely be:

* 9/29, Sue Pasco Opening Tournament at Essex HS - NAQT A-level set from 2017-18.
* 10/27, GHOST, New Hampshire vs Vermont tournament at Hanover HS - Questions TBD.
* 12/7, Pre-Holiday Academic Tournament at Essex HS - NAQT A-level set
* 1/26, Vermont-NEA Scholars' Bowl Playoffs
* 3/9, Vermont NAQT Championship
* 3/30 Vermont-NEA Scholars' Bowl Finals.

We would love to see more circuit teams up here, especially for PHAT in December, which has drawn at least 58 teams every year since 2012.

NHBB is claiming Feb. 2 for its MA State Championships, March 2 for Connecticut (Newtown), and November 17 for New Hampshire. Boston Fall was initially scheduled for Dec. 8, but I'm trying to move it to avoid a conflict with PAWT (same with New Englands, initially scheduled for March 30).

Hi Michael,
I noticed on the History Bowl site that Maine was a potential site. Is that still a possibility?

I'll be doing some work on that in the next couple months (trying to get a spring event). It's a possibility, but don't count on it (RI is much more likely to happen, though).

this thread: http://hsquizbowl.org/forums/viewtopic. ... at#p349968 seems to indicate that bhsat is actually Feb. 2, which would also conflict with an nhbb tournament. can this be clarified?

Not that this affects the Scottie mirror, but the date for BHSAT was changed to the 16th (http://hsquizbowl.org/forums/viewtopic. ... 80#p350699) (Vincent please edit the post thanks)

Hanover will no longer be hosting its planned mirror of CAST. Therefore, both the date (March 23) and the set are available. I expect it'll be a strong set, so I urge any interested parties to contact William Golden.

Are there any upcoming tournaments that would consider doing 20 point powers, no negs, and bounce backs on bonuses? Obviously NSC's distribution and question style is also different, but I'd just like a chance to get an idea of how it affects gameplay and strategy. I know few NE teams go to NSC, but I think it's worth it to give the format a try. It would be best on a harder set.

Any team considering this should factor in that bouncebacks take a surprising amount of extra time and require very disciplined/skilled/trained moderators (to avoid accidentally revealing bonus parts). Moreover, most non-NSC sets don't have bouncebacks factored into their writing, which can lead to some unfortunate "well it's the other one then" situations.
