Re: Mississippi 18-19
I notice that the NAQT site differs on the details for the Itawamba Invitational, and doesn't mention the Mid-South Championship Tournament. Have things changed since you've posted this?aeteacher wrote:The current tournaments in Mississippi for the upcoming season:
Oct 6th- Itawamba Invitational (tentative date) using in-house questions
Jan 26th- Mid-South Championship- Itawamba, Fulton, MS NAQT IS-180A

Additionally, I would like to see more contact between our respective teams, and amongst MS quiz bowl teams in general. I think there's a lot we can do to improve the quiz bowl program in our state with greater cooperation.

Re: Mississippi 18-19
Hello all,
I recently graduated from St. Andrew's and am going to college in Iowa, so obviously I'm no longer directly involved in the MS QB circuit. However, seeing my favorite sport continue to thrive in my home state is incredibly important to me, so I'm looking to help out in any way I can. Please feel free to reach out to me with anything I could possibly help with, no matter how long after I make this post. I don't yet know when my breaks will be, but if I happen to be around when a tournament is being run, I'd love to pitch in. Also if anyone is thinking about about starting or reviving a tournament (Southwest, Millsaps, MSU, etc...), please let me know; if nothing else, I can at least help raise interest throughout the circuit, even if I can't provide material help.
Like I said, feel free to contact me, even if it's just to talk about quiz bowl in MS!
Edit: this year my breaks fall from Oct. 19-Oct.28, Dec. 21-Jan. 18, and Mar.14-Mar. 30. If your tournament falls between those dates, I'd be happy to help moderate or do anything else I can to help!
