PACE seeking nominations for new members [window closed]

Post by Adventure Temple Trail »

The Partnership for Academic Competition Excellence is currently accepting nominations for new members. These are due to current president Matthew Jackson at [email protected] by 11:59 PM on Sunday, June 14.

PACE has many objectives, among which are:
  • to promote and encourage the growth of quality high school invitational tournaments around the country,
  • to provide guidance or assistance to other colleges or high schools that wish to organize such tournaments,
  • to encourage innovation and creativity in academic competition,
  • to establish visibility for college academic team programs that run high school tournaments,
  • to foster cooperation among college and high school programs in preparation for upcoming regional, state, or national tournaments,
  • to encourage participation of teams in tournaments across the country prior to regional, state, or national tournaments,
  • to allow all teams adequate opportunity to practice, compete, and socialize among other fellow competitors,
  • to produce the question set for and run the National Scholastic Championship each year.
If someone you know is exceptionally qualified to contribute to these goals, please consider sending their name, along with a short statement of their track record of contributions thus far, to the address above. While returning high school students are not eligible, anyone who will be out of high school in 2015-16 is eligible to be nominated. Self-nominations are frowned upon.

Membership in PACE is elective, i.e. the current membership of PACE will elect a set of persons from among the nominees, who will then be offered membership in PACE. A list of new members will be posted once we've heard back from everyone.
