Hey all,

With a new season starting, I just wanted to remind everyone of the existence of Matt's Buzzers. You can find further info at http://www.mattsbuzzers.com/.

It's a really great service set up in the memory of Matt Cvijanovich, a quiz bowl player for Iowa State and Illinois who passed away in 2005.

You're sure it's still operational, right? The website only lists grant recipients in 2005-08.

Where in the world is Slocomb? I've never ever known of them having a team nor did I even know Slocomb was a town in Alabama.

"*Open to all students in grades 7 through 10 with an overall average of 90 or above. "

Man, that would disqualify a whole lot of quizbowlers throughout the country if that were a more prevalent "rule."

Thanks to the funds raised from the Sir Dupre Memorial Tournament, there will be two "second chance" drawings for $150. My understanding is that schools who applied for a December grant, but were turned down, will be eligible.
