NAQT Novice (CNS-177C) @ Carnegie Mellon (9/22/18)

Post by setophaga »

Carnegie Mellon Quizbowl will host a mirror of CNS-177C, NAQT's collegiate novice tournament, on our Pittsburgh campus on Saturday, September 22, 2018. We have reached a cap of 16 teams: additional teams wishing to register will be placed on a standby list. We will have standby registration until Wednesday, September 19: we will let teams know if they can attend by Thursday, September 20.

Fees
$15 per player
-$5/team per buzzer system (max of 2). Buzzer systems must have eight functional buzzers.
-$10/team per capable moderator
-$10/team if your school did not attend any tournaments in the 2017/18 academic year
Minimum fee: $40 per team

Registration
To register, please visit our website, cmuquizbowl.org, and complete the registration form under “Collegiate Novice.” This form should be active by Saturday, August 24.
Alternatively, you can email us at [email protected] with your school name, number of teams, and any discounts you plan to claim. All checks should be made out to "Carnegie Mellon University".

Eligibility
Eligibility for this tournament will be at clubs’ discretion. We would prefer that only freshmen or people new to collegiate quizbowl play this tournament, but are welcome to having upperclassmen fill out a team if shorthanded. Please email us at the above address if you have any questions.

Congrats to Case Western's Grey team, which went undefeated in the afternoon to win the tournament.

Preliminary and combined stats have been posted to the hsquizbowl database. Thanks to everyone who came out and played!
