MLK XVII @ University of Toronto (January 16th, 2016)

Hello Canada!

The University of Toronto will be hosting a mirror of MLK XVII on January 16th, 2016. More information on this set can be found here. This will be a "semi-open" event, in that all players must currently be enrolled in school (grad or undergrad), but players from different schools may play on a team together. The tournament will be directed by me, Meghan Torchia, and our control room will be in room 2101 of Sidney Smith Hall. The tournament will begin at 9:30, please try to be there around 9:00-9:15.

Please note that due to the University's exorbitant room-booking fees, there will be a hard field cap of 7 teams for this event. To register, please email me at [meghan DOT torchia AT mail DOT utoronto DOT ca], telling me how many teams you're bringing and which discounts you'd like to claim. Also, another University Reach tournament will likely be held the day after this, so if you're interested in that you may want to make plans to stay the weekend in Toronto.

Fees:

$120 base fee
$-10 staffer discount
$-5 working buzzer set discount
$-10 travel discount for travelling over 200 km one way

Minimum fee: $60

I will accept payment in the form of cash, e-transfer, or a cheque made out to "University of Toronto Academic Trivia Club". If you're paying in cash or cheque, you must pay me on the day of the tournament.

Field:

Waterloo
Ottawa
Toronto
McGill
Carleton

If you have any questions or comments about this event, please post them here. See you all in January!

Sign a team up for McMaster, as I want to play before the (unlikely) event of a closed field.

EDIT: Some of the team wants to go the Rochester mirror instead, so we will have to see if we have enough people to send a team to this one as well.
EDIT 2: Doesn't look like it.
