EFT 2016 @ Oxford 11/26

Post by Æthelred the Unready Steady Cook »

We will be hosting a mirror of EFT 2016 on the 26th November 2016. It will be held at St. John's College

Details about the set can be found here http://www.hsquizbowl.org/forums/viewto ... =8&t=18443 .
The tournament will only be open to university teams, at least initially. There should be space for 11 teams. The difficulty will be between Fall and Regionals but basically appropriate for all teams.

The cost will be reasonable and there will be discounts for buzzers and moderators but I will confirm this in a bit because of the problem of exchange rates, making things in the USA more expensive.

Feel free to comment with any questions.

The facebook page with details and sign-up can be found here https://www.facebook.com/events/723404444479642/#

This happened yesterday.

We played a 10 team RR and split 4/3/3 for the playoffs. Oxford A and B went into the top bracket with 1 loss each, while Cambridge A and B made it with 2 losses each. Oxford A won all their games, while B only lost to A, so A took an advantage into the finals which they won by 10 points after powering the final starter and getting 10 points on a science bonus despite their science player having to leave halfway through the game.

Stats are here, only combined exist: http://www.hsquizbowl.org/db/tournament ... ete_stats/

Top three scorers overall were me (68.46), Ewan MacAulay (64.58) and Ben Beardsley (62.63)

Thanks to Aidan for TDing and for all the moderators who made this run about as smoothly as any tournament has run in the UK.
