2017 ACF Regionals @ University of Minnesota (2/18/17)

Post by green_eggs_and_sam »

The University of Minnesota - Twin Cities is excited to be hosting the North site of ACF Regionals on February 18, 2017.

This will be a regular-level, college tournament open to any college teams. The tournament will begin at 9:00 AM in Blegen Hall on the West Bank Campus where tournaments usually take place, with registration in Blegen room 10 beginning at 8:30 AM, and will go until the mid- to late-afternoon (likely between 4 and 5 PM). We ask that everyone arrive by 8:45 AM so that we can get the tournament started promptly at 9:00 AM.

Fees
Base fee: $135
Approved buzzer system: -$5 each
Approved moderator: -$10 each
Travel: -$10 per 200 miles traveled one way

Please e-mail tournament director Sam Levin if you are interested in participating at [email protected]. Please tell us which school you are from, how many teams you would like to bring, and if you would like to bring any buzzer system(s) or moderator(s).

We have a very tentative field cap of 24 teams, but that is subject to change.

**If you are coming from out-of-state and need hotel accommodations, we are looking into getting a deal with a local hotel so that the cost is not as limiting a factor. If you are coming from out of state, please tell us if you need hotel accommodations and approximately how many rooms you would want**

Staffers, also e-mail Sam at [email protected] if you are interested in staffing the tournament. Pizza and drinks will be provided for lunch for staffers.

Current field
UMN--4 teams
Drake--2 teams
Iowa State--1 team
Carleton--2 teams

The database post can be found here: http://www.hsquizbowl.org/db/tournaments/4113/

Thanks!

Paul's list of title winners is correct. Here are the stats: http://www.hsquizbowl.org/db/tournament ... /combined/

Due to some late-hour confusion, we failed to initially realize that there was only a one-game margin between MN A and MN B at the end of the playoffs, so there should have been an advantaged final. It was late enough in the day, though, that the teams were satisfied with the outcome and agreed to let the current order of finish stand.
