The University of Georgia is pleased to announce that we will be mirroring WAO II on Saturday November 11th. Details regarding its distribution, writing corps, and other information can be found in the original forum post: http://www.hsquizbowl.org/forums/viewto ... =8&t=20129
Location and Schedule: The tournament format will vary based on the size of the field, but will presumably be round-robin. All matches will tentatively be in the Miller Learning Center, located on Sanford Drive by Sanford Stadium, as seen on this map: https://www.architects.uga.edu/sites/de ... w24x36.pdf
The tournament will begin at 9:00 AM.
Costs:
Base fee: $140 per team
Working buzzer discount: $5 each
Approved moderator discount: $15 each
Travel discount: $10 (more than 200 miles one way according to Google maps)
The base fee does not include lunch. We will instead be leading teams to the Bulldawg Cafe, where a variety of food options can be found.
Payment: We accept payment in cash or Venmo. We cannot accept credit cards. If these methods are not feasible, please email us and we can work something out.
Registration: To register, please e-mail [email protected]. If you do not receive confirmation within a day, please let us know. Please include how many teams, staffers, and buzzers you’re able to bring. The initial cap is 16 teams, but with sufficient early interest we will be able to expand the field. We look forward to seeing you in the Classic City!

Can we please have a field update on this so we can help the host figure out what team owes what?

Aaron Manby (ironmaster) wrote:Please, if you get a chance, join the private discussion forum for this set. The history, literature, fine arts, and biological sciences were finished weeks ago and edited to the best of our ability with multiple rounds of feedback with Jonathan Magin halfway through the week after he was finished with his ACF Fall commitments. For me and Derek, this was our first time editing a set, and we would appreciate all the feedback we can get. I'm sure the two Jackobs would like comments too.
The reason for this, as well as the reason for why a bunch of the RMPSS/CE/Trash sucked was that we didn't have someone as a designated head editor to tell people to get shit done when various people couldn't finish their commitments. We have learned the lesson the hard way.DumbJaques wrote: ("Approximately," because packet 1 was missing two history tossups, which were instead replaced with random tiebreakers).
Derek didn't realize this when he was finalizing some packets early this morning, so he went with the mindset of sending as many packets as he could to buy as much time as possible. Without Derek stepping forward and doing this, something he never ever signed up for, this set would have be very incomplete by the time the tournament started.DumbJaques wrote: Things did not get easier from there, with packets trickling in throughout the day, unreliable and in apparently random order.

Do you think that, now that the semester is over, you guys might be able to compile and post the statistics from this?
Thanks!
Thanks!
