NAQT SCT at Youngstown State University (2/3/18)

Post by zwhile »

The Quizbowl Team and Honors College at Youngstown State University are happy to announce they will be hosting the Great Lakes site of NAQT's SCT again this season.

The fees and discounts associated with this SCT site are standard; if you need a reminder, they are here: https://www.naqt.com/registration/fees. ... nt_id=9065

To register, click here: https://www.naqt.com/registration/regis ... nt_id=9065

The field can be found here: https://www.naqt.com/registration/field ... nt_id=9065

All matches, unless the field grows to a very large size, will take place in DeBartolo Hall. Please note that this is different from the DeBartolo Stadium Club, which is not accessible to the public. A campus map is available here: http://www.ysu.edu/sites/default/files/CampusMap.pdf

A note about parking: if you intend to park in the M60 deck, which has entrances from both Fifth Avenue and Lincoln Avenue, only the Fifth Avenue one is attended. The Lincoln Avenue entrance is keycard only. Parking is $5 for the day. Be careful if you choose to park here; this deck can be very tight in spots, but it is very close to DeBartolo Hall. Alternatively, you may park in the M70 lot, across Fifth Avenue from DeBartolo Hall. There is very little free parking around campus, but you can try Lincoln Avenue in front of Beeghly College of Education if you arrive early enough. This is neither guaranteed nor recommended, however.

Places to eat are up and down Lincoln Avenue, in addition to Taco Bell and McDonalds on Fifth Avenue and whatever will be open in the student center, mainly Chick-Fil-A.

We will personally invoice teams if needed for fees. Checks should be made out to YSU Quiz Bowl. Cash is acceptable. Credit cards cannot be accepted. Teams that cannot pay by the day of the tournament must contact us in advance ([email protected]) to let us know of their situation so a resolution can be reached.

Good luck, and I hope to see many of you in the Steel Valley in February!

Thanks to Greg and the YSU club for running a great tournament!

No finals were played in D1 as all involved teams had played each other three times. The overall D1 champion was Michigan A, and the undergraduate champion was Michigan B.

In D2, Michigan C defeated Case Western A in the first game of an advantaged final to clear the field with an undefeated record.
