This is the official announcement for VCU's mirror of the SNICK trash tournament.

This event will take place on Saturday, September 15, 2018, on the second floor of Harris Hall on VCU's main Monroe Park campus in Richmond. We expect to start registration at 8:30 AM Saturday and get to the first round as quickly as possible. We will run the whole set & possibly some other recently available trash tournaments and conclude around 4PM.

This will be a normal format event (teams of four) and is entirely open. The registration fee is $60 per team with a $5 discount for each working buzzer and a $10 discount for bringing a staffer.

Please treat this as a “summer open” event even though it is being held in September. It is up to you whether you feel this tournament is appropriate for any individual person to play, but an all-90s trash event probably isn’t something to bring 10 underclassmen to as their first college quizbowl experience and we are not intending it to be such.

VCU has closed through the weekend due to the weather forecast, so the tournament will not run this Saturday.

Sorry to hear about this, but obviously the weather takes priority. Virginia and I can make it if this gets rescheduled for the 22nd...after that, we'll be back in FL (...but for how long is tbd...).
