Sun God Invitational @ Southampton, UK (November 24th 2018)

Post by ChemiSteve » Wed Nov 21, 2018 5:23 am

The University of Southampton is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a mirror of the Sun God Invitational on Saturday 24th November 2018, under the title 'Southampton Hard Autumn Finale Tournament' (SHAFT). This is a semi-open, regular-difficulty tournament.

Logistics

The tournament will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday 24th November. It will be held in the Murray Building (Building 58) on Highfield Campus at the University of Southampton. Note that the tournament will begin at 10:00 a.m. sharp, so all players should be in attendance by 9:45.

IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING BY TRAIN:
We recommend travelling to either Southampton Airport Parkway (SOA) station or Southampton Central (SOU) station. If travelling to SOA, the U1C bus service can be taken from the Platform 2 side of the station to Highfield Interchange, and takes ~15 minutes. If travelling to SOU, the U1A bus service can be taken from the Platform 4 side to Highfield Interchange, and takes ~20 minutes. A day rider on the bus costs £3.70 and contactless payment can be used.

IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING BY CAR:
If you are planning on driving to this event, we recommend the following locations for parking, as they are not too distant from the building and parking there is free at the weekends. They are listed in order of distance to the Murray Building:

Oakhurst Rd, Furzedown Rd, Hawthorn Rd, Granby Grove, Ripstone Gdns, Blenheim Gdns, Hartley Ave, Merton Rd, Sherborne Rd, or Upper Shaftesbury Ave

Prices and Payment

Base fee: £70
Buzzer discount: £5 per functioning system
Moderator discount: £10 per capable moderator with laptop
Travel discount: £10 if you are travelling more than 200 miles to Southampton.
