The 1st field cap will be 8 teams of four. If there is enough interest, the cap will be moved up to 12 teams. This is to ensure that each team will get to hear 8 rounds of questions.
The date has been confirmed for Saturday evening (most likely 8:30 PM, giving players enough time to get dinner after evening rounds).
Bump - I assume this event is being held Saturday evening? Not sure if I can make it in early enough Friday evening, and even if I can, ACRONYM and Imaginary Landscape are going on as well.

Thanks for the bump (now that HSNCT staff invites have been sent out). I am confirming that the event will take place on Saturday and not Friday evening.

UPDATE: The 1st field cap is currently set to 8 teams of four. If there is enough interest, we will move the cap up to 12 teams. (This will be reflected in the main announcement)

Me, Robert Muñiz, and Ankit Aggarwal are looking for a fourth player for this, in particular a literature specialist. Message any of us if you want to join us!

Please meet in the area around rooms L501 to L508 on the Lobby Level at 8:20 on Saturday (They’re to the left of the Concierge desk when you enter the hotel).
The following are the room assignments for tomorrow:
Hari - L501
Blake - L502
Gabe - L503
John - L508
Thanks, and I hope to see you all tomorrow.

This is a bit short notice, but if you can meet at the L501 to L508 area at 8:00 PM instead of 8:30, that would be much better. If people cannot make it until 8:30, that’s okay with me and I will wait until then. But I would like to have this end as early as tomorrow so that those competing tomorrow aren’t as tired. Thanks again for playing!

Thanks to all who played META last night! After 7 rounds of prelims, the standings were as follows (by # of wins):
1. Tejas et. al (Congratulations for sweeping the field!)
2. Deferred from Berus-Lie Academy for Gifted Thinksporters
3. Berus-1337 Academy
4. Shaw et. al
5. Laurie et. al
6. Quizbowl, but instead of a buzz sound its Owen Wilson saying "WAO"
7. [unclear set content removed]
8. 三个臭皮匠顶个诸葛亮
Before the placement game, the top two teams had already left, so we decided to play some "placement" games with some hybrid teams as seen in the stats.
If you have not already done so, please pay the $10 fee for playing. You can either pay me in person while I am here or through Venmo (@Hari-Parameswaran-1). There will also be a discussion forum set up on Discord for the set. Thanks again!

This was a very fun tournament and quite well run considering the circumstances. If you're into criticism or secondary literature, or cool under asked history, I highly recommend playing this set if you can!
