EP McCabe Scholars Bowl III 10.10.9, Langston, OK-Results

Postby KGeee » Mon Jul 20, 2009 3:10 am

The Langston University Quiz Bowl team is pleased to announce the
third-annual Edwin P. McCabe Scholars Bowl, to be held on October 10, 2009 on Langston‘s main campus. It will be an "A-level" (easier than
the alternative) packet. This is an official NAQT and a PACE National qualifying tournament. We will be attempting to vary our tournament from previous years
by dividing teams into large school and small school divisions, with a combined playoff single elimination tournament.

Vital information:
$75 per team
$70 per each additional team
$10 dollar discount per fully working buzzer system (limit one per
team, unless requested)
$10 fee for a copy of the tournament packet
Registration deadline: October 2, 2009
Make all checks payable to: Langston University, with "HCASC" on the
memo line.
Contact Coach Kate Corbett at kcorbett@lunet.edu to register for the
McCabe Scholars Bowl.

Lunch will be provided. Registration will begin at 8:15 A.M., with
game play beginning at 9:00A.M. We hope to see you there.

Thanks,
Kyle Gregory

More information to come as I'm in the middle of getting all of the statistics from our statkeeper. Here's the shorthand: Eight teams showed. Everybody beat up on everybody else and if a team lost to a team in the round-robin, they probably beat them in the playoffs.

Championship game:
Edmond Memorial defeats Oklahoma Bible Academy for the championship.

Eight teams showed up...I'm in the middle of moving all of the info to our new website, now that Geocities is shutting down.

The other teams were:

Norman North
Stillwater
Timberlake
Del City
Silo
Maud

Eventually I'll resurrect the website after the downfall of geocities, but NAQT has it all right here:

Playoffs Round 1
Edmond Memorial defeated Silo
Oklahoma Bible Academy defeated Norman North

Championship
Edmond Memorial defeated Oklahoma Bible Academy

Thanks to all who came out and to those who assisted with the third version of our tournament!
