In this thread, I'd like to catalog all the "common law" rules we've put forth to this point, for eventual public posting of a codified set of rules. Here's what I remember:
-No racism, homophobia, or similar epithets or sentiments.
-No posting other people's phone numbers, addresses, etc.
-No sexual harassment or overly graphic discussion.
-Flaming of any kind must be confined to AHAN.
-If you wish to discuss board policy, start a new thread in Misc HSQB or AHAN. Do not inject it into threads about quizbowl.
-No deriding people for enjoying quizbowl or intellectual activities.
-People who are new to computing and constantly start threads titled "Reply" or run their sentences from a topic to a post will be gently corrected at first, but if they obstinately persist in abusing the board's organizational features they may be banned.
-No pretending to be someone else.
