Looking for set...

Postby alexdz » Tue Jun 21, 2011 12:30 am

I am seeking an academic quizbowl set for mirroring sometime in July or the first weekend of August in Colorado. I haven't had a chance to send out a mass feeler to the teams in the area yet to see whether there is more interest in a trash or an academic set. I've got an idea for a trash set lined up if that seems more popular, but I don't yet have a usable academic set.

The set should be relatively easy, since most of these teams have little experience playing the national format. I am running this event purely for social/outreach reasons, so low mirror fees are somewhat a priority, but behind difficulty. [EDIT: This is an open tournament, but designed to be at the high school level since that is likely to be my largest crowd.]

If you have a set or a suggestion for a set, please let me know. I doubt there will be a lot of easier sets available late in the summer, but I figured I'd put out the call and see what happens. [EDIT: I'm open to something regular-difficulty if there isn't a lot of "easy" running around, since I might draw some community college type folks (Chris Chiego emailed me a few contacts including some CCs).]

VCUO Trash would also be available if you indeed run it in August.
