3/8/14 Rotary Indiana State Championship at Ancilla College

Post by pblessman »

The Plymouth Rotary Club will host the Rotary Indiana Quizbowl State Championship at Ancilla College on March 8, 2014. There is no entry fee for teams entering by February 8, 2014, and lunch will be provided to all teams. Each team will be guaranteed eight matches, and each match will consist two periods of toss-ups and bonuses and one period of a 60-second round. The tournament will use NAQT questions.

In order to even the playing field for the smaller schools, the competition will be divided into three classes: Class AAA: Large Public and Private Schools; Class AA: Medium Public and Small Private Schools; and Class A: Small Public Schools. As sponsors become available, prizes may be awarded to winning schools.

Top scorers will also be eligible for selection to the 2014 Indiana All-Star Team to proudly represent the Hoosier State in the 2014 HSAPQ National All-Star Academic Tournament.

We hope to see broad participation from schools all across Indiana. As Rotarians we aim to serve our local communities, and we know how important our high schools are to the very sense of community we are trying to foster. We feel this is a wonderful opportunity to put the spotlight on some our schools’ strongest students.

Please register by going to http://tinyurl.com/2014RotaryStateReg. Schools must register by February 8 to claim a free spot. Schools registering after February 8 will need to pay an entry fee of $100. The field will be limited to a maximum of 16 schools in each size class, so please register as soon as possible to guarantee your school a spot!
