We Have Never Been Modern - Online Mirror - 9/6/15

Post by Mike Bentley »

Hi, I'll be hosting a Skype mirror of We Have Never Been Modern on Sunday, September 6th at 4 PM EDT. Exact format will depend on how many people are interested.

The tournament will be free to play. You'll need Skype and ideally a microphone, although the microphone is not strictly necessary.

Dang, I have to pick Gaurav up at the airport at 3:30 Central on 9/6. Welp, I guess I'm not playing this...

Please sign up by tonight if you want to play. I'm going to ask around about moderators and will then decide on the exact format.

As of right now, we'd probably break into teams of 2 and play a 5 game round robin then a top 4 single elimination finals.

At the moment there are 15 people signed up. We'll break up into doubles and do a full round robin on the 7 packets. There are a decent number of extras which I'll whip up into some sort of finals half packet or full packet if two teams are outright tied for first.

Please self form into teams and put your name down on the spreadsheet. There is room for 1 person who is not in the following list of people to still sign up for the tournament:
Charles Hang
Amol Patil
Sam Rombro
Hidehiro Anto
Travis Vitello
Joe Su
Ryan Humphrey
Akhil Garg
Anderson Wang
Sam Bailey
Jason Thompson
Andrew Nadig
Ryan Rosenberg
Zach Foster
Arun Chonai

I will put anyone who is not on a team onto a team by Thursday night.

I'd be happy to help read. I put my name on the spreadsheet.

Edit - oops, I can't seem to add my name to the list. [email protected]

If that spot was on the team with Jason Thompson, I'd like to take it.

The team 150 Delaware race track slot machines, consisting of Ramapriya Rangaraju and Jason Thompson, cleared the field to win the tournament. Stats are here: http://www.hsquizbowl.org/db/tournament ... nal_stats/

Thanks to everyone who played and moderated.

I'll be posting the set soon. May read the 8th packet which people who have played other mirrors largely haven't heard in the IRC tomorrow night.
