Grab your parkas and rev up your snowmobiles, because the University of Rochester will be hosting a mirror of MLK XVII on January 16, 2016! Details about the set, including distribution, difficulty, and other such things, can be found here. The tournament will take place in Morey Hall, and registration will begin at 9:00 AM, with games to (hopefully) start by 9:30 AM. Eligibility is the same as for ACF events.
Fees and Payment:
Base fee: $120 per team
Buzzer discount: -$10 per working buzzer system provided (no limit)
Staffer discount: -$10 per staffer provided (ask us beforehand if you want to claim this discount, and we will let you know if staffers are needed)
Travel discount: -$10 per 200 miles traveled one way (as determined by Google Maps)
Minimum fee: $30
Payment is cash or check only, and will be expected the morning of the tournament before we begin. Checks should be made out to "University of Rochester". If you need an invoice to generate a check, or have some similar consideration for payment, please let us know that when you register.
Registration:
Teams can register by emailing me at [email protected] with the number of teams you will be bringing, number of buzzer systems, and whether you would like to provide staffers. Please include "MLK Registration" in the subject line.
We are setting a "soft" field cap of 11 teams, but we may raise this if we get enough interest, if we get enough help with staffing, and if we can reserve additional rooms.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me at [email protected].
See you there!

Re: MLK at University of Rochester (01/16/16)
I'm interested in trying to gather some people to come down and play this. Worst case scenario I'll prolly play by myself, but that remains to be seen. Can I claim a spot for a McMaster Jay?

Cortland State (in other words, me playing solo, at least until the semester actually starts and I can work on starting up a club and recruiting teammates) is interested in playing this. Please tentatively sign us up for 1 team and 1 buzzer system.

Thanks for hosting, Rochester! This was a good tournament, and I had a good time despite the very small field, which involved getting up at quarter to 4 to drive down to.

After some technical difficulties, the stats have finally been posted here. Thanks to Will for helping us get that sorted out. Also, thanks to everyone who made the drive out to play; we hope you all had as much fun as we did!
