Arcadia Quiz Bowl is happy to announce the first ANT, or Arcadia Novice Tournament. The tournament will be held at Arcadia High School on Saturday, October 29, 2016.

This will be a NOVICE ONLY tournament mirroring SCOP Novice 7*

To qualify for novice the team must have:
-No more than two years of experience
-Never been to a National Tournament
-Won no more than three HS tournaments at the JV or Varsity level in a single academic year.

DATE & LOCATION:
The tournament will be held at Arcadia High School: 180 Campus Dr. Arcadia, CA 91007.
Registration will start at 8 AM, with rounds beginning at 9 AM. The tournament will last until no later than 4 PM.

COST:
The registration fee is $50 per team that is established in the SoCal circuit, $20 per team that is new* to the circuit.

*Schools that have not competed at a pyramidal quiz bowl tournament before the 2015-16 school year; "pyramidal quiz bowl” does not encompass other academic/trivia competitions like Science Bowl or Academic League.

DISCOUNT:
$5 Discount for each working buzzer set.

FORMAT:
Each round will be played as two untimed halves of 10 tossups each. Official NAQT rules will be used.

Most likely, teams will play a round robin, but changes will be made depending on field size. There is no current field cap.

MISC.:
Within walking distance (15 min), there is a mall with a large food court. Closer options include Chinese fast food and Subway.
Parking will be ample in the lot on El Monte Blvd.
Trophies for winning teams as well as book awards to top individual scorers will be given out.
