Gryphon Bowl October 15 2016

Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy would like to invite you to participate in the North Carolina Association for Scholastic Activities sponsored quiz bowl event on our campus on Saturday, October 15. You do NOT need to be a NCASA member or a North Carolina school to attend. We are located in Rutherford county, about 15 minutes west of Shelby off of Highway 74 and about 30 minutes from Spartanburg. Registration is at 9am.

AFFILIATION: We will use NAQT set IS-157A. The tournament is a NAQT and PACE Nationals qualifying event.

FEES and REGISTRATION: The cost is $60.00 per team (up to 6 students) with a $10 discount for a working buzzer system. Please email me ([email protected]) with the number of teams and buzzer systems that you plan to bring. Please make all checks payable to Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy. Checks will be collected at registration.

FORMAT: We will cap our field at 20 teams. Each team will participate in preliminary brackets in the morning and playoff brackets in the afternoon. Each match will consist of 20 tossup questions. There will not be bounce backs on the bonus questions.

FOOD/LUNCH: Due to our rural location, it is difficult to go for lunch and get back in a timely manner. We will sell sandwiches, salad, snacks, and drinks.
