GINVIT 2017 at University of Minnesota (12/9/17)

Post by romgl » Sun Oct 29, 2017 7:29 pm

The University of Minnesota Quizbowl Team is proud to announce that we will be holding GINVIT 2017 (Gopher Invitational Tournament) Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the University of Minnesota.

This will be a regular high-school-level tournament using NAQT packet IS-168. We will be playing using modified NAQT rules, with only major changes being that rounds are not timed and only twenty tossups will be read per round.

The tournament will begin at 9:00 AM in Blegen Hall on the West Bank Campus where tournaments usually take place, with registration beginning at 8:30 AM, and will end in the mid- to late-afternoon (likely around 4:30 or 5 PM). We ask that everyone arrive by 8:30 AM so that we can get the tournament started promptly at 9:00 AM.

Fees
$80 per team registered
-$5 per working buzzer system* **
-$5 per 100 miles travelled**
-$10 per moderator provided* **

If your team would like to participate, please register at https://www.naqt.com/registration/field ... nt_id=8454.

We have a field cap set tentatively at 24 teams. Please tell me if your team is interested in playing ASAP.

Any staffers interested in staffing this tournament, we will provide pizza and drinks for lunch. Please e-mail us at suacb@umn.edu if you are interested.

***We officially have PACE NSC Gold Qualification, meaning the top 20 percent of teams qualify for PACE NSC in Washington D.C. between June 2-3, 2017.

Thank you!
