Hypothetical George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush questions

Post by QuizbowlPostmodernist »

I'm not planning on writing a tossup or bonus anytime soon with either of these people as the answer and I want to completely sidestep the question on whether or not someone should write a Bush tossup.

If you had a question on either Bush, how would you write the answer line? What would you make the required info for a player to demonstrate which Bush they are referring to?

ANSWER: George W. Bush (Prompt on "Bush" and accept Bush Jr. or equivalents that differentiate him from his father)

As long as the moderator is instructed to make the player specifically identify one of them, I don't see a problem.

Alternative acceptable delineations as they use it to refer to each other (which may be bothersome in a weird way): Bush 41 and Bush 43.

Doesn't either NAQT or CBI have a rule specifically dealing with the two Presidents named John Adams? I think it would be the same, since, once again, all that differs is that one has an additional word in their name.
