The best format for a 14 team mirror, to me, seems like paired brackets (each team plays all 7 teams in the other bracket), and then split 4/3 with the bottom bracket getting a bye as one of their three playoff rounds.

Perhaps NAQT would be more amenable to changing the rule for college quizbowl only?

I don't think high schoolers have similar complaints, especially because NAQT timing rules are pretty standard for high school, whereas the vast majority of college tournaments use different timing rules (5/5/5).

MSU A won DI outright, and Pitt A beat Michigan A in a one-game final to win DII.
