Just wondering if there is some sort of list of regions or tournaments that use 20 point powers and no negs or more importantly bouncebacks.
If not, do you have any suggestions for this type of tournament anywhere near Boston?

How to Buzz Faster
Yes, I know learning more, doing more practice, and reading questions will help with anticipating the buzz etc. etc.<br/> I'm talking about pure speed. These are instances where you and another player buzz on the same word or same clue but in most cases not your typical difficulty cliff buzzer race....

Re: New England Date Claims '18-'19
Are there any upcoming tournaments that would consider doing 20 point powers, no negs, and bounce backs on bonuses? Obviously NSC's distribution and question style is also different, but I'd just like a chance to get an idea of how it affects gameplay and strategy. I know few NE teams go to NSC, but...

Re: 2019 BLISS I Open for Mirrors
Thanks Mr. Bland for the input. Repeated content and the double tossup were definitely errors in the "physical" packeting which will be fixed when we crosscheck our spreadsheet with the round docs. Grammar will be addressed similarly. I will set up a survey for specific content based conce...

Re: 2019 BLISS I Open for Mirrors
Firstly, we apologize to Blue Ridge and the attendees of the tournament. We should have delivered a well written set several days earlier. A similar question: What's the procedure for accidental buzzes? I saw three separate instances yesterday and just want to know for future reference. 1. A player on the opposing team accidentally buzzed by dropping his buzzer (physically let go, not slid off the table) while a question was being read...

Re: Player tossup etiquette
Just curious, how would you buzzer fake? I have definitely met players (in Certamen, not quizbowl) who automatically buzz when they hear someone else buzz. Unlike quizbowl buzzers, Certamen machines recognize the first buzz on each team (so up to 3 basically simultaneous buzzes for 3 teams), and it'...

I didn’t want to add more, but I really don't feel comfortable about the way our staffers are being discussed. It is true that we had inexperienced readers at SPIT. We took note of the problems it created and allowed only people with some experience playing or coaching to read for BLT. The scorekeep...

As a player, I think the best mid match advice would be about minor adjustments. I would look for common mistakes like not conferring, not hearing all of the bonus, or not hearing out teammates. It's also helpful to hear where team members could maybe be a little more or less aggressive with relatio...
