Re: 2008 QU NAC discussion and comment
dunno if anybody else has posted this but it's on the NAC site. We Love the Pyramid, but Don’t Worship It A Vermont school turned down our invitation last spring to join us at Nationals, saying, “We prefer tournaments that use pyramid-style questions.” It seems that a bit of misinformation has been ...

I imagine the Eddie Griffin tossup got answered really quickly or went dead in most rooms. The first clue about his porn-watching escapades while driving was a bit easy. I thought the music distribution was better than it has been at the two previous trash tournaments ive been to, but would it hurt ...

That said, remind me: Chip only rebounds on his 10-question team round, right? Lightning round and bonus round bouncebacks. In Bonus round you get bonus questions until you miss (5 10 15 20). So if you get the 5 and 10 and miss the 15, and the other team answers 15 correctly...net points for you on...

Wait--you mean that wasn't Shanghai's strongest team? From talking to them in our poker games, I gathered that the underclassmen were taking exams and weren't allowed to come that weekend. Thus, only seniors were on the HSNCT team. They said some of the underclassmen were better though. I'm guessin...

I played NAC for two years, and I must say this year was less crap than last year, but still, some of the questions suck. And I won't be specific, because I don't know if this question will be heard again, but some of my teammates were discussing a final Jeopardy! question before our first match, an...

BTW, no one has yet mentioned that your team, Wilmington Charter, may be poised for a serious run for next year with all of those young scorers; WC B had a pretty big upset win. Were those teams balanced out? We put all the seniors on one team and the JRs, sophs and one frosh on the other team. EDI...

I think I'll actually answer that. I can't speak for T here, but if I've learned one thing in life, it's take what you can get for free. Whether it's free samples at the grocery store or a trip to San Antonio, you might as well take it. Especially when there hasn't exactly been anything given to you...

I simply remarked that given the extensive documentation of your team's statitstics and tournament performances by a certain member of your team, I would love to play you guys well, im sure you would love to p...

It depends on the style of the team and its players. There will be some very aggresive players who will rack up 20 negs but get 60 to 80 tossups over a 10-game tournament. This is fine. I don't consider there to be an ideal tossup to miss/neg ratio for players averaging over 50 points a game, becau...

NAQT State Championships
For the more interesting tournaments, like say, Virginia and Maryland, results will actually be something to care about, because there is more than one school that is good at NAQT. Well, the first one is over, that being Delaware's (16 team field, of which 5 were Charter teams, and placed 1-5 at the...

Sara Garnett ... played very agressively and was not afraid to buzz. yeah, she kind of took it to us the round she played against us. she basically scored all her teams tossup points. they beat us by like 60 or something. we were frustrated...after getting to 5-2, we lost two in a row. ok, end of m...
