I am pleased to announce that the Northeast collegiate site of STASH will be held at NYU on Saturday, March 13, 2021. The tournament will take place virtually on Discord. The opening meeting will begin at 8:45 AM and gameplay will begin at 9 AM. I, Doug Simons, will be the tournament director. Pleas...

Hi all, I know this is super last minute, but Geoff, Aidan, and I are looking for a fourth for this, preferably a lit player. If anyone is interested, please PM me.

Re: Enlighten me on the North Jersey circuit
Joe, I hope I didn't come off as hostile or trying to suppose you wanted to destroy anything non-pyramidal in Jersey. I really appreciate the effort to catalog this stuff, for lack of a better term, especially since it'll be a colossal effort with all the various formats going on. To be honest, it w...

Re: Enlighten me on the North Jersey circuit
This might be tangential to the rest of the thread, but I feel that the reason for the relative strength of non-pyramidal quizbowl in New Jersey is how willing good pyramidal teams are to "get their hands dirty" in other formats. While I was at High Tech, we regularly sent teams to NORJAC ...

Re: NYC Summer Open date poll
I'd like to strongly advocate against using NASAT for this tournament, as I would be barred from playing due to having worked on the set itself (and I know there's a few other writers/editors who worked on NASAT who feel the same- at least two of whom will be traveling pretty far to attend this tou...

Hi, sorry about the late drop but my team would like to drop. My two teammates had their flight delayed and will not be able to make it. Sorry again for the massive inconvenience.

Re: What is the most pressing concern in college quizbowl to
To respond to this tangent (and perhaps address some other issues being discussed in this thread), I can personally vouch that, at a minimum, Princeton is well aware of our inconsistent and low-quality tournaments in the past (and is aware of the hiccups at PHSAT this year), and, though I can't spe...

Re: What is the most pressing concern in college quizbowl to
Disorganized college-run high school tournaments are a huge minus for recruitment. I get that we want to keep quizbowl casual, but it usually just looks like a bunch of bro-y buds who don't take QB or other people seriously—not exactly a good look for potentially interested players. This might be a...

Re: Gauging Interest in an NJ NASAT Team
I will be playing SMT at Harvard next month, so that will not work. However I feel like no history tryout will be complete without me, so if you guys could figure something else out, that would be great.

Re: Gauging Interest in an NJ NASAT Team
I would love being able to have tryouts at Rutgers. What would the different topics for tryouts be and do you have a rough idea of what set they would be run? In any event, I bet High Tech will be well represented on the eventual Team New Jersey.

Re: QuBIT IV (2/24/18) Lincroft, NJ [FACTS]
Congratulations to Lehigh Valley for winning QuBIT IV after playing two games of an advantaged final in their favor against Downingtown STEM to win the tournament! Alex Schimdt's performance today was unreal, scoring a incredible 176 ppg in prelims. Aurora Leigh of Not Spuyten Duyvil also put in an ...

Re: NY/NJ Date Claims '17-'18
In response to the deluge of housewrites hitting the market this year, High Tech has delayed its housewrites by a year and has cancelled its novice tournament. QuBIT IV is going ahead on Feburary 24th, set to be determined.

Re: NY/NJ Date Claims '17-'18
High Tech will be hosting QuBIT IV on February 24th, and a still unnamed novice tournament we are hosting will also be held on October 28th.
Both tournaments will be High Tech housewrites, and both dates are still subject to change.
