Re: 2021 ACF Nationals Qualifier
Let me apologize to the good folks at Chicago, first. The use of Chicago C was purely a stand-in to make a greater point, which is: "To some extent, it may not be optimal to have a purely first-come first serve basis, and we may want to allow for some team diversity to the extent that ACF Natio...

Re: 2021 ACF Nationals Qualifier
This seems pretty reasonable given the circumstances, though I'd like to make one suggestion. As a precaution for the possibility of a lot of demand and not enough slots to try out enough teams, I think it would be a good idea to initially restrict registration for this event to a school's A and B t...

Since I think this would be of public interest, I'll ask this question here: should we, the general quiz bowl audience, view the conceptualization and existence of the supersite as an indicator that there is a possibility that ACF Nationals will not be held this academic year? I agree that Zoom is the simpler platform to host a tournament on. Could I see the tossup on the 1960s? I believe it was just our moderator accidentally skipping over parts of the question (they stopped and then continued to read during the first line), but, from what they read, the first line seemed to be extremely ambiguous and not uniquely identifying.

Most of these are good additions to the rules, but there are a couple that seem unnecessarily rigid to me. Specifically, these two: Added Section DX.2.B: "Whether or not a player buzzed before, at, or within less than a syllable after the power mark is a matter of moderator judgment, and is not...

I think I speak for everyone at Princeton when I say we would all favor 3 seconds instead of 2. All the points Will brought up, especially about inconsistent timing rules being applied by mods who just feel bad negging after 2 seconds, seem to suggest that 3 would be a constructive and welcome change.

You could compute it with area under the curve too. The Gini coefficient is the area above divided by the total. I was just thinking it would work better this way because then a "harder" tournament would have a higher number.
