Re: Kentucky 08-09

Dunbar loses most of it's varsity-Victor, Tian, Amit, Sagar and myself (Papa)
In addition, Dean has retired as well.

Pavitra and all the JV starters will be on Varsity next year.

Tomorrow's tournament is CANCELLED. Your coach should have received an email. Please do not come. It will almost certainly be gross outside.

Re: Kentucky '07-'08

It's something like 16 teams, really really small, I know.
Right now some of the teams I remembered seeing are:
Ezell Harding
Johnson Co.
MadNoHo
Daviess
Ballard (I noted them because of their surprising finish at Hart Co.)

Re: Kentucky '07-'08

A couple years ago at NAQT states, we (the B team then) played Pikeville first thing in the morning. We played poorly and it went down to the last question with them up ten and they buzzed in early with Degas. The moderator, however, ruled it incorrect for whatever reason. The answer was clearly Deg...

Re: Kentucky '07-'08

We have played none of the above. But "A Doll House" isn't a lucky mistake. It's the preferred title (Perrine's Literature has a huge explanation on it). Although, Dawson may have been lucky in getting it, it's definitely the more correct version. Too bad the world of quiz bowl has yet to ...

Re: Kentucky '07-'08

They're good. As far as I remember. When I wasn't there at one of our league matches, they beat us by a question. At Regionals, I think the score was something like 60-20, but that's probably more lopsided than it should have been. Also, does anyone know much about Pikeville, Dawson Springs, or Davi...

Yeah, I kinda sucked on the AH test and imploded on the last five or so in SS, but Brad's SS score was solid. By the way, the SS question about Afarensis is crap, because it definitely had "species" in the question and Afarensis is a genus. That made me mad, particularly because I would've...

I don't think that's a fair label. In a game like QR, where momentum carries so much weight, if a team reels of 15 in a row, their opponents just drop their heads and give up. And as I think something similar happened, I find it hard to call it a smashing. The score was more lopsided than the match ...

Paul Laurence Dunbar High School Academic Team is hosting the Bulldog Invitational. The current date is March 8, 2008. We are located in Lexington Kentucky. This tournament was ten ten point quickie tossups. 2minute 15 question worksheet. 10 Tossups with 20 point bounceback 2 question bonuses. Ooh, lots of numbers. So when you're down 40 with one question left, you've lost. But down 30, you can tie. Rather like Vandy.
