So while we are on the subject of next year, would anyone like to venture a "preseason" top ten? I can imagine it will look quite different from last year, with all the talent graduating. I don't know enough about the teams in Illinois, or I would start.

Wrong answer: Most Valuable Player Award.

Right Answer: Plantar Facitis

Our coach read something about Albert Pujols and Tim Duncan before our freshman buzzed. It was really funny after we found out the answer... and the category, which was medicine

Does anyone know how the all tournament team from the Peoria Area World Affairs tournament did at their competition in D.C.? For that matter, did anyone know that there was a competition for them?

In the other class A pool, IVC and Decatur Lutheran played in the first round. That was a heck of a match too, coming down to a controversial last question. Anyways, those two teams ended up finishing 1 and 2 in that pool and took home hardware. So maybe there is something too the conspiracy theory,...

So where is that list going to be posted? Could you either post the teams here or put a link to them?

The sports thread just reminded me of this. From, I think, last year.

Mod: Born Chukwuemeka *Buzz*

Emeka Okafor

The joys of NCAA tournament pools.

So, let me get this straight. Some guy who no one knows, who failed to get his team out of Masonic regionals, hasn't been honored as all-state just called out the best team in Central Illinois? If I were a betting man, I would put my money on Vikram and company. If I recall correctly, my team played...

Questions are questions and a victory is a victory, no matter what type of questions are used. I'm sure any victory over Bloomington at Masonic by Auburn would matter as much to both teams as a match that took place somewhere else.

Oh, well that explains a lot. I didn't actually look at the All-Sectional nomination form, I just handed it to my coach and moved on. That kind of sucks for the IVC players nominated for All-Sectional, because IVC was not a very good team last year. They weren't bad, but they're a lot better this ye...

I don't know what happened, but IVC's record at the time of the seeding meeting was 26-7 (i think) but I could be wrong on that. Don't know how you wouldn't have gotten that, seeing that IVC is in the same sub sectional as Peoria Heights. If those records are from last year, then that information wo...

From Bloomington Central Catholic Regional: 1st: Normal West 2nd: IVC 3rd: Prarie Central 4th: Blue Ridge Consolation: Normal Community Title match was very tight, with Normal West only leading by about 5 going into question 19, which they swept and made question 20 irrelevant. 3rd place match was t...

This is from practice a while back. I'm sitting there, not paying attention, thinking about my girlfriend...you know the deal. I wasn't paying attention to the category, but i thought it was language arts. Question comes "To whom does the pronoun "he" refer to in the following sentenc...

Alright, alright I see your point. I just that it was quite a contrast between the wrong answer given and the correct one that was "vultured." I guess you had to be there to truly enjoy the moment

Stop trying to play the underdog Matt. Everyone knows that Latin is the favorite in class A until someone knocks them off. That reputation comes with having won several class A titles the last few years. Latin is the favorite, but not by much.

I could be wrong, but I don't think that Normal West or Bloomington participated in the Peoria Area League last year either. But the league should be a battle between Morton, IVC and Peoria Heights. Who won the league last year? I was gone during the tournament so I don't remember.

Don't forget Jordan Wiley from Morton for Team Illinois. Smilie made it last year, and Wiley probably picked up a few things. Greg Boubakis from Normal West is a possibility. Other than that, Mike Hahn from IVC might have an outside shot, but I doubt he will try out, and Alex Davis from Elmwood migh...

Styx, about Peoria Heights. I'm not sure their ranking as third in the state is quite fair. I don't even know if they are the best team in the Peoria Area. I watched them play IVC three times so far. They got blown out twice, and eeked out a win in another. Dylan is good, but he is all they have. If...

Styxman. After Winnebago, who would be your top ten class A teams this year? since Winnebago is head and shoulders above the rest, just wondering? Anyone else feel free to comment as well.

The JV championship went to Limestone by 5(I believe, but I'm not 100% sure on this, but I know it was close) over IVC. First place all-tourney went to a limestone team member with 14. There was a three-way tie for second at 13, I don't remember the other two, but Zack Troxel of Peoria Heights was ...

From Central Illinois, the best players are Jordan Wiley (Morton), Dylan Troxel (Peoria Heights), and Mike Hahn (IVC). Dylan is very good at Social Studies, and Jordan is extremely well rounded. Mike knows social studies, with current events and science mixed in. Of course the kids from Bloomington ...

Other two members were John from Moline and maybe Hunter Fast from Bloomington, but I'm not sure about No. 5. I don't think it was Hunter, because I was expecting him to be named but I was surprised when he wasn't. I could be wrong though. I was spacing out a little bit. He can correct me if I'm wr...
