Re: Penn Bowl 2020
In light of new university guidance (and the overwhelming unlikelihood of gathering safely in February), we've opted to cancel Penn Bowl 2020. This set will become Penn Bowl 2021, which can be mirrored on a to-be-announced set of dates in October of 2021.

Re: Penn Bowl 2020
Does this mean that all of the mirrors are delayed as well, or just the main site? All of the mirrors as well, though no mirrors actually exist as of yet because of the COVID uncertainty. Would you be willing to allow regional online mirrors in the fall if there is interest? We prefer all mirrors t...

Re: Penn Bowl 2020
In light of the University of Pennsylvania's recent announcement regarding Fall 2020 semester social distancing guidelines, we are postponing Penn Bowl. We tentatively aim to host the main site on Penn's campus on February 20, 2021.

Re: This Time, A Stern Warning
I think it would be nice if people who have done the same would open up as well, although given some of the punitive rhetoric in this thread, I would guess that we need to create a better space for that kind of conversation before people feel comfortable doing so. In the interest of having that kin...

Re: This Time, A Stern Warning
I believe the general response to Eric’s confession, and the discussion of a course of action has been characterized by a great deal of magnanimity, because Eric is a respected, long-tenured member of the game. I strongly doubt the tenor of the discussion would look like this if the person who conf...

Re: College Nationals and Its Problems
During my admitted students day as a high school senior, one of the professors on this discussion panel about the difference between high school and college described high school as "an institution where information is just handed to you" and the university as "a place where knowledge...

Re: 2020 ACF Regionals: Specific Questions and Errata
A few of the history bonus middle parts seemed on the hard side, particularly Francisco de Miranda and the Hongwu Emperor. Miranda was a hard part at 2016 ICT! I am particularly bad at East Asian and Latin American history so I tend to underestimate difficulty in those categories, apologies if you ...

Re: Online Guerrilla History Mirror - 6/1 (postponed indefinitely)
I apologize for neglecting this -- assuming no one comes forward to rescue the online mirror in the next week or so, I plan to post the set to the DB.

I also believe I emailed about this, but Penn added a second team to our registration. Hopefully, Princeton dropping a team means that this won't affect too much.

For all the people who stayed after and played Guerrilla History, thanks for playing the set, I hope you had a good time! If you didn't submit a packet and didn't get a chance to pay me last night, you can Venmo me the $10 entry fee @nitinsr99.

Re: Guerilla History Event (PIANO side event)
As of Feb. 23rd, I have enough submissions for 4 packets. If you're planning on playing the set and haven't submitted, I would highly recommend doing it despite the passed deadline if you want to have enough packets to play a round robin on (particularly at the Hopkins site, which I expect will have...

Re: Guerilla History Event (PIANO side event)
Submission deadline is in 2 weeks and I've only received 3(!) submissions. If you're planning to submit a packet (highly recommended), it'd be helpful if you did that sooner rather than later!
