Re: 2019 HSNCT discussion
For people who take Latin and have no idea what the first clue was talking about, the "separation" clue could have caused quite a few negs, since the ablative of separation is a very common construction in Latin, much more so than the dative of separation. I might just be speaking for myse...

Re: 2019 HSNCT discussion
May I please see the tossup on the dative case? I negged this with ablative on "separation" and just want to see some of the clues.

Re: MSNCT predictions
This (https://www.naqt.com/stats/tournament/t ... _id=165342) performance from Churchill seems to point to good things at MSNCT. Also this (https://www.naqt.com/stats/tournament/t ... _id=157752) from a (mostly middle school) Hunter C.

Re: MSNCT predictions
I think either Challenger-Almaden or Churchill will win. Teams to watch out for are probably Hunter, Hopkins, Midtown (I know), Aptakisic, Quest, and Barrington.

Re: Mythology
Just in terms of Greco-Roman myth, buying copies of Edith Hamilton's "Mythology" and Morford and Lenardon's "Classical Mythology" would probably be a good idea, as well as reading the Iliad, Odyssey, and Aeneid (obviously other sources like the Theogony and Metamorphoses have alr...

Re: Specific Question Discussion Thread
This is just a minor issue, but the chimera tossup from round 1 incorrectly gives the name of the husband of Antea (Stheneboea) as Proteus. It should be Proetus.

I actually answered with "diamond" for this (in hindsight, probably not that great of a guess), and it wasn't taken. Apparently the answer read: gemstone (accept obvious equivalents).

Re: Specific Question Discussion
It appears that it is from one of the more obscure arias from the opera, "E Izaghi ed Izanami." "Pigri ed obesi son gli Dei giapponesi." --- the part referenced by the tossup.

Considering that it has already been played at one site (VCU), do you think that there will be an online mirror of this in the near future? I know that I would love to give this tournament a shot, but, like so many others, can’t attend an actual mirror site.
Thank you,
Thank you,

Hello everyone, I just put my name down as a free agent for this mirror of NASAT. First off, am I allowed to compete in this as a middle schooler (well, technically my MS career is done)? Second, if it is okay for me to play, I'd be glad to join any team that needs a history/fine arts/mythology play...
