No question along the lines of "NAQT employs , :kenj: , a mormon. Doesn't this mean you are racist, sexist, and wear funny undergarments?"

Congrats on Beta. I have no clue about the strange animal known as Beta Club; never got around to joining and have never seen the questions... I'm guessing they're quite different from NAQT. Yes, Chatahoochee is an awesome team this year, and they're program looks strong for next year, too. As for t...

That explains it! So the moral of the story is that friendly dudes and a crazy fun short girl are just a ruse for a long-term poisoning. Oh well. Gee, thepowerofche, I sure do hope you're Bobby (Rob) or Casey, otherwise the joke isn't quite as funny. If it was. Anyway how was Beta? And my prediction...

Great tournament! Incredibly well-run. Thanks, Robin. Also, and though it requires the message board cardinal sin of rambling AND commenting on other posts themselves, that's the most comprehensive set of high school statistics I've seen since PACE, and that was in a link. It was also good to see Da...

Re: Southeast

In the southeast, you can never rule out Dorman, Brookwood, and Walton. They always have strong teams. Seems that everytime we expect a "rebuilding year" out of them, they come up stronger than before. OK, here it is: the comparison post I've been holding back. Why is it that in the south...

I tought so, and that's why your post confused and scared me a little. Congrats on Savannah Country Day, though. Three of us had a massive schedule conflict so we couldn't attend. It's a shame: looks like we would have met each other and had a crazy match. Where did Etowah come from to get to the fi...

As a bit more than a casual observer, I can assure all who gives a rat's butt that Brookwood will, more than likely, NOT have a varsity A team made up of four females UNLESS GOD SENDS US SOME REAL WORKAHOLIC PLAYERS!. I am a believer in affirmative action and will guarantee a male player at least o...

Well, GA (at least I'm pretty sure it ws GA) had a BIG stink when a certain unmentionable team recieved copies of tournement questions, brought them to the tournament, not knowing they were THE questions, and then used the questions BETWEEN ROUNDS. This may be the same incident Byko described (same ...

What's always killed me around N.C. is having high school students serve as moderators. Hey, now, I've read at a few tournaments, granted with JV level questions or ones that I wrote or edited, and was perfectly fine. Once a coach commended me on handling his somewhat unruly team professionally... ...

All this said, the quality of a quizbowl program probably shouldn't be your main consideration in choosing a college....I mean, seriously, if you're at GT for anything other than academics, you're probably not here for the right reasons and you will very quickly hate your life. Who did Dorman A play in the quarters and semis, just curious (our coach encouraged us after the round of 16... man that Coach Hauck can positively reinforce a disappointing loss!)
