CC SCTs

I did not see a place for this elsewhere.

The AL SCT featured Jasper A, Snead, and Faulkner A finish in a three-way circle of death. Faulkner won in two playoff games with Jasper finishing second and Snead taking third. Northeast Alabama took fourth and Northwest-Shoals finished tied for fifth.

As much as I love the ACBL, they are notorious in the statistics department. Unless required by NAQT, thankfully, they refuse to use SQBS and rely on an antiquated spread sheet system. Which would be fine, if not for the obsolete nature of it, as it does not track powers, negs, or bpc.

Oh, Mark, good luck with the CC scholarships at UA. Out of our team, 3 of us got some of those partial scholarships, out of 15. One guy at Faulkner got one of those five full tuition dandys. You basically have to be USA Today All-Academic Team or no fully.

So what was the problem involving late packets? From what I read this caused a decent amount of trouble for some sites, like GT one. I half expected someone to be hung by now, at the normal rate at which people go about addressing these issues with other tournaments.

I guess it just boils down to personal preference. I have always preferred trophies myself. When I was at UA I always made sure we had trophies for our hosted tournaments, and tried my best to make sure we had nice ones. It has been my experience that having trophies is a good way to lure money away...

Alabama will be UG, with the exact same lineup at we had at D2 last year. I look for Maryland to take the overall title, with Harvard taking UG, especially considering they return all of their team that finished 2nd to the monster UG team that was Carleton last year.
