Re: Kentucky 09-10

Last year, several teams in Louisville (Manual, Eastern, Ballard, St. X) organized a quiz bowl league. We purchased questions from NAQT and played each other every other week for a few months. Each school was allowed multiple teams and we did random draw and then power matching. All teams involved w...

Re: Kentucky HSAPQ All-star Team

How long are you all thinking tryouts would take? Manual is just about 5 minutes away from the Galt House.... I'd have to get approval (which I don't think would be a problem), but we could host tryouts on the last day of State. I do agree that pretty much everyone who would be interested would be ...

There are several Manual players who are interested. It is important for this to be open to people beyond those simply active on this board. Is there a definitive time, room, etc?

Re: Glen Gonslaves Memorial Tournament at Solon HS(2/13-2/14)

duPont Manual (KY) is planning on attending with four teams.

I believe Ballard (KY) is planning on attending as well. I imagine Ballard will bring 2 teams.

Re: U of L Arts & Sciences Academic Challenge 10/17/09

To clarify- I was not the one who made the claim that Dunbar split talent amongst teams. I was responding to the thought that Manual had "split talent" amongst teams in hopes of obtaining more bids. Of course who attends a given tournament will help determine team composition along with pl...

Re: U of L Arts & Sciences Academic Challenge 10/17/09

I hear that Dunbar split up the team to try to qualify more teams for nationals (I was taking the PSAT today). Manual might have done the same but I'm not sure. Manual definitely did not do the same. Our "A" team was our strongest team, "B" team was the second strongest, so on a...

Hi Matt!
We (Manual) will participate. I will let you know how many teams as soon as possible, but it looks like 3 will be likely.

Re: Kentucky 08-09

Based on what I've seen, I'd have to agree that the strongest teams in Kentucky this year appear to be Pikeville, Dunbar, and Johnson Central. It would not surprise me if other Kentucky teams (i.e. Russell) significantly improve over the next few months. We are not a factor this year. I only have on...
