Re: 2018 NAQT HSNCT: Congratulations Plano West!
Jeff (or anyone else who may know), has there been a discussion of splitting the HSNCT into TPS and Open Divisions like at the SSNCT? I looked at a few forums and didn't see anything mentioned, but I may have missed it. Just curious if it's been brought up before. Thanks.

Re: individual stats and Georgia tournaments
Modern quizbowl standards dictate that separating the field into several preliminary pools and then reshuffling the pools for the playoffs is the best way to guarantee as many games as possible to all teams, and so that no team is knocked out by a single bad performance. If this were actually true ...

Yeah, community help would be pretty swell. We all know my stance on results of individual games is (hint: if you don't, it's that it's an entirely too small sample size to draw too much from compared with an entire tournament or season's of data); that said, I do believe that (and this is just a c...

Fred/Frank,
At some point before nationals, it would be interesting to see what the records of the top 25 teams are against each other. You might not have this information readily available, but if you do I think that would spur some good conversations. I love "quiz bolw".

Agreed. More appropriate would probably be to say Semifinalists since a consolation game was not played. We should also include Quarterfinalists on this list since teams 5-8 qualified for the HSNCT because the event had a field of over 50 teams.

HSNCT placings can be very weird. Draw a bad result in the double elimination and you could be out quickly without a chance. The difference between being in and out of the top 25 has a lot of luck. While "luck" certainly has some role to play in almost any competitive activity, I would po...

Re: WUHSAC XV (February 16, 2013)
Any updates for this tournament? Chattahoochee still wants to come, but we have not heard anything via email in about 3 weeks and nothing has been posted in almost 2 months.

Chattahoochee defeated Dunbar in the championship, 330-160. New Kent and duPont Manual B were the other semifinalists I believe.
