Re: Quizbowl clubs for non-students

I really think Naveed is on to something here - I've gone on before about how, unless you're an editor-caliber player, quiz bowl tends to expect one to walk off into the sunset of a stable career and whatnot. I haven't played a tournament since CO Trash 2016, but I check the forums and read the ...

Cursed Images and Graven Idols - second reading and date poll

Hey folks, I'd like to have another reading of my 30 Tossup Festivus packet Cursed Images and Graven Idols. Re: Should players be allowed to ask for question categories?

I feel like this is close to the quiz bowl equivalent of counting cards - if you can keep track in your head or by jotting down your best guess of the category, go for it, but I don't think the categories should be explicitly known to all. I've definitely done "hmm, this probably isn't x, since ...

I really like the idea of playing this. However, given the timing (over the holidays), I don't know that I'll have the availability to devote a minimum of ~6-ish hours to playing this with teams. I'd actually prefer some sort of singles, Festivus-like event where I could pop in and out if needed.
