I've long maintained that pairing TU/bonuses usually has the unintended consequence of having MORE bonuses in categories where the toss-up is missed, since writers strive to ask about something other than the TU category. In Class 3A, I can report that the Stevenson site was won by Barrington, who defeated Stevenson (sans Govind & Olivia, before you ask) on TU 32 of the semifinals, and then topped Buffalo Grove in the finals.
At the Fremd site, Palatine defeated Fremd on TU 32 in the championship match, 270-260.

Concur with Ankit. The last few years have felt as though you could've replayed the final stages of the tournament ten times and had five or six different champions. I'll be interested to see how an increased difficulty on the playoff rounds plays.
