Re: Question regarding state policies regarding "playing up"

I just saw this and thought I'd weigh in on the situation in Illinois. The IHSA administers scholastic bowl (main differences from quizbowl is 5 vs 5, no powers/negs, and bonuses bounce back), and AFAIK every school that fields a quizbowl team is an IHSA member. They adhere to IHSA by-laws regarding...

Here's my "for your consideration" post, mostly focusing on teams/players who for some reason either aren't represented well or aren't represented at all by nationals stats: SNIP Yash Choudhury (Taylor Road, GA) did not play MSNCT. Quest is an obvious choice, given Rohan G's performance at IPNCT, but I'm dubious of whether he can defeat teams of 4 with balanced scoring and knowledge, round after round, on Sunday. For that, he's going to need consistent support from, for example, Mateo and Brady in the form of 20 PPG. Aptakisic...

As a coach who has dealt with comp math for 22 years, the issue with making a computational math question is that you are either writing something that's super easy to complete, and becomes a buzzer race, or something requiring a few steps to arrive at the answer (from yesterday; express 51/120 as a...

In Class 3A, I can report that the Stevenson site was won by Barrington, who defeated Stevenson (sans Govind & Olivia, before you ask) on TU 32 of the semifinals, and then topped Buffalo Grove in the finals.
At the Fremd site, Palatine defeated Fremd on TU 32 in the championship match, 270-260.
