After Rappahannock Co. and Mathews, West Point was in third, Rappahannock-Warsaw was fourth, William Campbell and Franklin were tied for fifth, and Chincoteague and Parry McCluer failed to appear.

I can confirm that 1A East advanced champion Rappahannock County and runner up Mathews. Rapp's first trip since 2009 (when I was captain :shock: )

My Facebook news feed had told me that Rappahannock Co. won Conference 43 (Rapp River Conference), and the Rapp News tells me it was over the other Rappahannock -- the one in Warsaw, VA. How confusing.

The 1A East Regionals are at Colonial Beach on 2/1.

As of right now, we have 10 DII teams and no DI teams registered. I'll be sending out an email later to regional teams that are active but not yet registered and encourage you all to sign up.

After 15 matches, the Bull Run District Standings are something like:

Mason 15-0
(Monumental Gap)
MP 11-4
Clarke 8-7
Rapp 7-8
Madison 4-11
Strasburg 0-15

Plus or minus a game for each team. I watched Mason and they are good!

BRD Tournament is Saturday, January 22.

Teams should come to this because Bob Powers runs a really, really good tournament every year, the format is fun, and the questions are challenging, but accessible. I'm trying to get Rapp to come even though there is a new travel restriction on quizbowl trips.

Congrats to DAR A for winning (and St. Andrew's and Holy Spirit for their 2nd and 3rd place finishes respectively.) I've heard entirely positive feedback on WRK, both on here and in person on Saturday. I hope to see you all at ACF Fall on November 6th here in Tuscaloosa!

Just to let everyone know, we have dropped to 13 teams. As 13 is the death wish for tournament coordinators, we will be on the lookout for a few players who would be willing to play on a scab team, just to make our scheduling lives easier!

Tentatively, we are looking at a 9 AM start, 5-6 matches in the morning, lunch, 3-4 more in the afternoon, and we should be done by 4, God willing. Your players should be fine, barring unforeseen circumstances. We should be sending out the email to coaches on Monday.

I'm aware that there are other tournaments on this date, which is really unfortunate. As Owen said, this is the only day that works for us early in the school year, as we are at the mercy of Bama football.

Sorry if I hadn't clarified this earlier, but there was one round robin (4 games), followed by an advantaged final for the top 2 teams, and an additional round robin for the bottom three teams. Is it VHSL prognostication time? I believe that it is! A: George Mason is pretty beastly this year, but they do have holes as well, and Honaker is putting up roughly the same scores as Mason.
