Re: TRASHionals XIII Results

Congrats to my former BATTLEPLANET!!!/O'Reilly teammates! If the TRASHionals mirrors come to fruition, it would be great if someone from the Chicagoland/Wisconsin area would host this, as you could probably get me to participate or staff.

Re: New National Trash Tournament in 2010?

I'd like to second most of what Greg said (although I've never been part of TRASH) and suggest that the "save" be utilized, primarily for the purposes of allowing a team to play a lamed bonus if they felt that it played to their knowledge base (and that happens a lot in trash tournaments I...

Re: Proposed trash/TRASH guidelines

I am old, but I do like sports questions, so here goes: The blogosphere is a gold mine for colorful anecdotes about current players, although you'll need to dig a little deeper for the older athletes worth asking about. That being said, don't feel like you have to throw in every Hall of Famer who ev...

Re: GARBAGE set discussion

It was a little tricky to figure out what the question wanted (I'm sure you can guess the identity of the author of this question based on what packet it was found in [HINT: NOT TRYGVE MEADE]). Perhaps if the question could have found two conservative, super-intense Christian athletes who both play...

Re: GARBAGE set discussion

Based on playing the questions, noticing the comments posted this week, and the stats from across the country, I think the editors succeeded in producing a very fair and very accessible set of questions. The issues regarding repeats have already been addressed, and Mike already brought up the two to...

Re: CO Trash discussion

I would like to compliment Andrew and company for a quality tournament, both in terms of question quality and logistics/management/moderation. If they decide to run it again in 2009, I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys trash tournaments or is even just curious about trying a trash tournament. ...

TRASHionals Review

I think this is one of the better TRASHionals that I've attended. Some things that they've improved on: -- more and better video game questions. -- a willingness to go slightly more obscure on comic book stuff. -- Music questions seemed in general better. I can't really speak for the music in gener...
