Re: 2009 NAQT HSNCT
Fair warning--this route also assumes that you're walking to the Rosemont station from the hotel, which I'm not sure is entirely feasible. (The image of the walk route on Google Maps seems to indicate that you'll be walking down the on-ramps to the Kennedy, which seems...ill-advised.) This walk is ...

Re: 2008 HSNCT Post Tourney Discussion - TJ Wins!
Warning: I am a stats nerd.
On that note, here is something interesting that I found: Only one team faced qualified opponents in all ten of their matches (Rancho Bernardo A). They themselves did not qualify (5-5).

Re: 2008 HSNCT Post Tourney Discussion - TJ Wins!
I don't know how long the tournament has been running in a hotel, but it seems like it can be a major fire hazard with the amount of students that are in a single room let alone a floor. The room I was in, in particular, could barely fit three tables of students/staff and then there were parents and...

At Buzzerpalooza, we were playing a moderator's lunch round and this picture came up:

What do you think it is? About 10-15 words in the question I correctly buzzed in with "(Baby) Kangaroo."

Multi-Team Scheduling
You all will probably see me on these Newbie forums quite a bit in the near future. I was wondering if there was an algorithm or some sort of formula that will allow me to schedule multiple team round-robins. What I mean by multi-team is that there are three or possibly four teams at each site to pl...

(Exposition: It is 10 minutes ago. The Uncharted data is suspiciously missing. My brother is upstairs in his room.) Me: Josh, what happened to the Uncharted data. Brother: Oh yeah, I accidentally deleted it. Me: By it, you mean just Uncharted, right? Brother: No. I think all the PS3 data. The End. ...

In response to Jessie, I believe the two-tiered approach to running tournaments is becoming increasingly popular. The Patriot Games and PACE NSC, as well as our own GSAC have used variations on this theme with increasing success. The Copley Invitational (largest tournament in the state) runs a syst...
